Standing Out From the Crowd: How Feel Design Can Elevate Your Educational Brand Online
In today’s competitive education landscape, a strong digital presence is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity. Whether you’re a passionate tutor, a nurturing nursery, a distinguished school, or a dynamic swimming or sports academy, your website and brand are often the first impression new students and parents get.
This is where Feel Design, a specialist education sector web design company based in the north of England, comes in. Run by James Blundell, an ex primary school teacher and also lecturer, of students from 16 to postgraduate, we understand the unique needs of educational institutions and can help you craft a compelling online presence that fosters trust, engagement, and ultimately, growth. James worked in primary schools in York and Knaresborough for 5 years in the 90s, and then, following an MSc in Interactive Multimedia Production at Huddersfield University in 2000, he moved to lecturing at Harrogate College and Leeds Metropolitan University for 4 years, while setting up Feel Design. We have worked with a huge number of educational clients, York University, Higher York, The University College Of Ripon And York St John, Cambridge University, Hull University, Cundall Manor School, Ashville College Harrogate, and Braeburn, an international school in Kenya.
Feel Design have worked with various forest schools, art clubs, children’s nurseries, like Young Discoverers in Yorkshire who we worked with for over a decade until the original owner sold the business in 2019 and the new owner sadly, could not keep it going through lockdown. We also had a long association with Yellow Door, in Cambridge in the mid 2000s, for whom we developed half a dozen CD Roms in Macromedia Flash, which we specialised in at the time, for Key Stage one literacy activities which won many awards and which are still, in other formats, retaining the animation, activities and design, 20 years later, as iPad and Android apps, redeveloped by a specialist company they brought in, although their main focus now with physical items like wooden figures.
We also helped set up Medic Mentor, aimed at students wanting to be medical students, developing a site that enabled students to reach out to current medical students and doctors for advice as well as signing up to conferences and training/mentoring sessions to get them up to speed for application to medical school.
Feel Design are specialists in e-learning systems, and produced many sites using Sensei e-learning, and also Moodle systems, for various organisations such as Calderdale Council, and for individuals running mindfulness or therapy businesses, wanting to have online training courses that their clients can purchase and complete online such as mindbodybreakthrough.net.
