James studied art foundation at Preston in 1989, and went on to do a degree in Graphic Design. He then moved on to a teaching degree at York and taught Key Stage 2 children in York and Knaresborough for several years before deciding to return to design with an MSc  in Interactive Multimedia Production at Huddersfield.

After working for a few design firms in Harrogate, York, and Leeds, he set up Feel Design in 2000.  Initially James supported this by lecturing for Harrogate College and Leeds Met in graphic design, web design, photography and multimedia. He also taught on a forensic science degree! James is passionate about doing a great job and learning new things from new people. He loves spending time dog walking and being outdoors. When not doing that, he enjoys playing guitar and bass, badly!!
