There are many different things you can do to bring visitors to your website. Several of these are for more established sites while some of them can be done by all websites, including the beginning sites. One of the things that you can do initially is to submit your URL to several different online feed services such as Feedage.com, Feedraider.com, Feedsubmitter.com or Search4rss.com. When you submit your RSS to these sites, you are being placed in their directory which will enable searchers to find you.

There are several different social bookmarking sites that will allow you to display information on what your blog is about. When using these sites be careful to not spam. That will get you blacklisted, and do you no good. You should write a short post that explains a little about your site and what it has to offer. Some of the more popular sites are Digg.com, Technorati.com, StumbleUpon or MyBlogLog.

Create a place on your website for visitors to give your e-mail address. You can create a product that they are willing to sign up for. After you have a listing of e-mail addresses, you can send out newsletter, videos, or merely inform them that you have some new information they may be interested in. You should be reaching out to touch them quite often. Let them know you still have a growing website that will provide useful information to them.

When creating articles that you post, pay attention to what the title says. You can place a number in the title that will grab attention. For instance, you could say Five best recipes from the south” or something like that. The number grabs the people’s attention. They are drawn in to that number. They want to find what the best of anything is.

Other things you can do is to comment on other blogs or create contests on your website. These contests, if done right, will drive the traffic to your site and give you some e-mail addresses. Good luck with your traffic driving processes.
